Aruba may be small enough to drive from one end to the other in about 45 minutes, but its mix of white-sand beaches, coral reefs, desert landscapes and vibrant culture rewards travelers who stay a little longer. For first-time visitors we recommend seven to ten days so you can balance relaxing beach time with sailing, snorkeling and a few inland adventures.
Five to seven days is enough to cover the essential highlights: a sunset cruise, a snorkel trip to the WWII shipwreck SS Antilla, a lazy afternoon at Eagle Beach and a half-day exploring Arikok National Park. You will not feel rushed, and you will leave with stories worth sharing.
If you only have a long weekend of four to five days, prioritize one signature ocean experience, such as our Morning Splash Adventure or Afternoon Pirate Party cruise, one quiet beach day and a sunset at the California Lighthouse. Keep land tours to half-days and you will fit in a surprising amount.
The good news about Aruba is that the weather is almost always perfect. The island sits outside the hurricane belt and receives fewer than 20 inches of rain per year, with temperatures holding steady between 82 and 88 degrees Fahrenheit. There is genuinely no bad time to visit. However, peak season runs from mid-December through April when prices are higher and tours book out weeks in advance, so plan and book early if you are traveling then.
No matter how many days you have, we recommend reserving a boat tour on day two or three of your trip. That way you are past any travel fatigue but still have plenty of energy for the experience. Early-morning snorkelers see the clearest water and the most marine life, while the afternoon pirate party suits those who prefer to ease into the day first.
